Colleges, universities, high schools, and organizations are encouraged to host events that celebrate global education and foster cross-cultural understanding. IEW is now observed in more than 100 countries (and counting).

Journey Through the Chakras Workshop (and Mini-Yoga session) – (ALPHARETTA)

Chakra is a Sanskrit word that translates to “wheel.” Our subtle body, also known as the energetic body, contains 7 main energy centers known as the CHAKRAS, often depicted with the colors of the rainbow. From Root to Crown, Mother Earth to the Divine, you will learn about each of these incredible wheelhouses of energy, from what it means if the energy is blocked, the parts of the body it may affect, the senses connected with each and how to move that energy through yoga asana, breath work, meditation, crystals and stones, and more! Kember, an energy work practitioner, has been teaching about and working with the chakras for over a decade. Want to learn more? Join Kember for a fun and informative workshop about this ancient practice. The optional mini-yoga session starts at 2 -2:30 p.m., no experience is required. The chakras workshop begins at 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Percussion Ensemble Concert (ATLANTA)

The GSU Percussion Ensemble will perform traditional Brazilian samba line rhythms, music inspired by Balinese gamelan music, and music by composers from Japan, Switzerland, Holland, Germany, and the US. The collection of nearly 100 unique instruments comes from five continents (Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, and South America) and the Pacific Archipelago and includes everything from beautiful drums native to Brazil and China to found objects such as tin cans and a conch shell.
