
Celebrate cultural diversity #TheStateWay during International Education Week Nov. 6 – 10, 2023. As a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Education, IEW celebrates the benefits of international education and exchange.
Colleges, universities, high schools, and organizations are encouraged to host events that celebrate global education and foster cross-cultural understanding. IEW is now observed in more than 100 countries (and counting).
Join Georgia State’s 24th-anniversary celebration of IEW. Choose from a variety of virtual and in-person signature events to attend.

Policy Innovations on Global Issues

Climate, health, governance, technology: the same policy challenges we face in the U.S. are being addressed around the world. But how? Join a team of international graduate students from the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies who will share their global perspectives on policy approaches to global issues.

International Dance and Yoga vs. Tai Chi (NEWTON)

First participants will learn various styles of international dance, including Salsa, Bollywood, Flamenco, and African Tribal. Then, they will wind down with a Yoga vs. Tai Chi session in which they can compare the ancient Indian practice with the ancient Chinese practice.

Food Law: International versus United States Food Safety Regulations (DECATUR)
11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
This will be a seminar highlighting FDA laws versus European and other foreign countries’ regulations on food safety. Special emphasis will be on ingredients that are banned in other countries but are allowed in the US. In addition, a comprehensive comparison of food safety regulations including food processes, hazard analysis, and sanitation differences will be addressed. This will include a foreign supply verification process for suppliers outside of the US that provide food/ ingredients to food manufacturers in the US.

Journey throughout the Chakras (ALPHARETTA)

Chakra is a Sanskrit word that translates to “wheel.” Our subtle body, also known as the energetic body, contains 7 main energy centers known as the CHAKRAS, often depicted with the colors of the rainbow. From Root to Crown, Mother Earth to the Divine, you will learn about each of these incredible wheelhouses of energy, from what it means if the energy is blocked, the parts of the body it may affect, the senses connected with each, and how to move that energy through yoga asana, breath work, meditation, crystals and stones, and more!
